I'm trying to add some keyboard shortcuts, and have followed the instrtuctions via File: Options: Customise Ribbon. All goes well until the end when I get an error message saying 'not available on this platform'. Can anyone help? Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. I may want to try a few others but these 2 are the ones I miss. Those two shortcuts should be assigned by default.
If you choose the list drop down next to categories and choose All commands, then look in the command list on the right and scroll to beginning document, what shortcut is assigned to it? In both these cases it would be very easy to delete a lot of text by accident. Hence no shortcut assigned to it. The commands are within Word but they depend on the codes sent by the keyboard through your computer's BIOS. Some manufacturers change this to use features in the computer more easily.
I suspect that most computer users do not ever use many keyboard shortcuts and rely on the little icons on the keyboard instead. If it is, you need to have a discussion with the support people at your computer manufacturer. I suspect your keyboard has been hijacked by the BIOS.
